The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Signaling Transports (SIGTRAN) for IP networks includes the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) and various User Adaptation Layers for MTP, SCCP, etc. The IntelliNet solution is based on providing SIGTRAN protocols as a logical transport to an application developer. All features of SIGTRAN are accessible by means of configuration rather than the need to program logic in the code. This is similar to a TCP/IP stack. C++ APIs are available to a protocol level developer to interface with any of the layers directly.
 
IntelliNet Accelero™ provides implementations of the SCTP (RFC 2960), M3UA (RFC 3332) and SUA (draft14). These versions have been validated at the interoperability bakeoffs with over a dozen industry vendors and have been deployed in 3G and softswitch based networks.
