Signaling Gateway for UMTS

Project Profile: A Tier 1 wireless infrastructure equipment provider needed to rapidly deploy a signaling gateway application to communicate with the circuit switched and packet switched core network for its UMTS product line.

Solution: IntelliNet modified its ConveroTM Signaling Gateway to connect to the customer's HLR, MSC, and UMTS nodes. This included developing system requirements, hardware selection, performance and capacity specifications, as well as core development and testing. The software is a hosted redundant system that provides active-standby redundancy with "five-nines" reliability.

Results: The first release of the system was successfully demonstrated on schedule within 90 days, a very aggressive time frame. The system has already been trialed in numerous operator labs worldwide, and is targeted for field trials in the fourth quarter of 2007.

GSM Cellular Convergence

Project Profile: A dynamic startup had an innovative product for in-building wireless using GSM technology with packet switching. The product needed to connect to the macro-cellular network to gain access to subscriber data and enable roaming and handoffs between the systems.

Solution: Building on IntelliNet's prior experience in TDMA in-building wireless and SS7oIP technologies, we created a custom solution based on the Accelero™ and Convero platforms to enable mini-HLR/VLR functionality for the radio system.

Results: The project was successfully demonstrated in more than a dozen networks and the startup was acquired by Cisco.

Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) Mediation for Softswitching

Project Profile: The market leader in IP signaling technologies was building a VoIP replacement for a Class 5 switch. They required support for toll-free and local number portability features on the switch, which meant the system must handle both VoIP and SS7 signaling.

Solution: IntelliNet was able to leverage its experience in AIN development by building the complete AIN call state machines on the HP OpenCall platform with triggers to allow the VoIP switch to perform the SSF functionality.

Results: AIN capability was successfully delivered in a record eight months while the new functionality added less than a tenth of a second to the call path.

High Availability Prepaid Platform

Project Profile: The leading prepaid wireless service bureau needed advanced technology to scale its ISUP-Hairpin model Sun-based solution.

Solution: IntelliNet provided ISUP on a non-stop platform and IN protocols for its next generation products. We developed an architecture that provided "five 9's" reliability as well as a full set of ISUP and WIN/CAMEL protocols.

Results: Our client was able to deploy a solution for early integration within four months, with full functionality available within 12 months.

Enabling Location Services

Project Profile: The premier provider of E-911 services needed to access location information from diverse wireless network infrastructure systems.

Solution: IntelliNet provided a platform that abstracts signaling technologies for diverse networks, including the unification of location services from WIN, CAMEL, GSMMAP, and JStd36.

Results: The platform enabled our customer to enter new markets and consolidate their lead in E-911 systems.

Fraud Prevention with LIDB Access

Project Profile: The leading provider of alternate telecom services for the corrections industry needed to improve its fraud prevention mechanism.

Solution: We leveraged our investment in the Convero™ and Accelero™ platforms to build a LIDB Access Framework that abstracted the intricacies of signaling technology and provided our customer with a simple API to invoke LIDB, CNAM, and BONS queries.

Results: Existing applications on the network were able to access LIDB databases, and the solution was implemented within 3 months.
