IMS SCIM

As IMS platforms are beginning to gain more traction to provide multimedia services with a single cost-effective platform, service providers have been keen to leverage their existing high-ARPU features with this platform. The SCIM (Service Capability Interaction Manager) had been initially defined by the 3GPP standards to provide service orchestration between next generation IMS SIP Application Servers. It is now seen to bring a much richer value to the networks. Converged service interaction with the traditional network has made the SCIM a more valuable solution to the service provider by leveraging existing service logic and bridging to next generation services.
 
IntelliNet’s Accelero is addressing practical problems in the SCIM by providing access to IN related information with WIN and CAMEL to extend prepaid, roaming and similar services to IP based sessions. Service providers are pushing for deployments within this year.
